With a focus on human identity and influences ranging from symbology to celebrity, Amy navigates through obsessions, relationships, ideology and other various attributes of her subjects; diving into the fragile and interesting beings that they are. By way of her close and almost obsessive figurative renderings, Amys work is not merely a realistic depiction of people and places, but a commentary on both the complexity and simplicity that characterize our existence.
Amy lives in Chicago, Illinois where she works at the Art Institute of Chicago. Pieces of her heart belong to New York City - a place of new experiences and inspiration - and to the beautiful country of Italy, where she learned to love life and was moved to capture her surroundings through the art of photography.
